We welcome all ability and experience levels and encourage you to audition!

Requirements for general auditions:
  • One a cappella solo (a folk song, art song, aria or hymn; please, no Broadway show tunes or “pop” songs) - solo does not need to be memorized.
  • Sight-reading & scales to determine ability level and range.
Young Artist Award requirements for auditions:
The Chorale awards paid positions to four singers.  Requirements for the Young Artist will be:

  • Candidates must be 35 years old or younger (for initial award) and must have or be pursuing a degree in music.
  • Candidates must be capable of performing solos and in small ensembles and must currently be pursuing a professional career in music.
  • Candidate must perform 2 solos from memory in contrasting styles.
  • One solo must be in a foreign language (French, German, Italian, or Latin) and the other must be in English.
  • Audition songs must be arias, art songs, folk songs, hymn arrangements or spirituals – no “pop” songs or Broadway show tunes. An accompanist will be provided for the audition.
  • Candidates will be asked to sight-read and sing scales.
