Celebrating our 23rd Season

How Music can empower underserved youth

One of the most meaningful experiences a person can have is to be heard, to be understood. The Chorale is proud to examine the profound impact of arts education – where young people can learn to express their feelings and experiences – during the second in their series of Community Conversation Concerts. This immersive event will include a panel discussion, performances by the Chorale and local students, a multi-media presentation, and an opportunity to share insights with others during a post-performance reception. It’s one of our most important concerts of the year and will leave audiences feeling enlightened and empowered to be a part of the solution for youth who are just beginning to discover their own voices.

Highlights of Season 22

Season 22 was a resounding success, marked by artistry and innovation! We performed the United States premiere of "Requiem" and flew the Japanese composer, Ms. Masa Matsuura, to St. Louis for our performance. The Chorale also commissioned ten new arrangements of songs this past season by composers Elizabeth Alexander, Adam De Sorgo, Adam Maness, and Paul Reuter. Three of the commissioned arrangements were powerful anthems of hope by survivors of sexual violence. We also held our first ever "Community Conversation" and are working to make our next one even better!
